I wrote this up for a challenge over at docwholand, but I may have missed the deadline as I just got accepted today. It’s only my second fic, but I thought I’d post it here too in case anyone was interested!

Midswing, she cocked her head to the right and listened. There was the familiar *swish* of dust as the man running at her disintegrated, but that’s normal. Her adrenaline was pumping fast after a good round of dusting vamps, and her hearing was even more amplified. The graveyard at night was always full of strange noises, but what had she heard just a second ago? It sounded like…no, not that, more like…well, no actually, she wasn’t sure she’d ever heard anything like it.

The slight blond spun the wooden stake in her hand and brushed some dust off her sleeve. She turned to the recently disturbed grave next to her and smirked.

“‘Steven Man?’ Yeah, well, who da man now?”

“Oh, no, never say that again. I learned that the hard way!”
